 Sumner on Ridgewood offers so much more than just Assisted Living
and Skilled Nursing that we
call it "Catered Living." The Sumner philosophy of care and caring has evolved
since 1911. Those 95 plus-years of experience allow us to offer more than what
other facilities refer to as "Assisted Living." Catered

Sumner's years of care and caring provide the foundation for our Sumner on
Ridgewood campus. In order to maintain a superior level of Assisted Living care, the Sumner organization created a "neighborhood" of residences
specifically designed to maintain this level of excellence. These residences are
nestled on 64 beautifully landscaped acres in Copley Township. It is in this
world-class retirement community that the Sumner tradition of excellence
continues through our Catered Living Program.
Choosing the Right
Level of Care
Before our residents move into our Catered Living Program, a nurse will
complete a full initial assessment of their needs and desires. A plan will be
developed in conjunction with the resident, their family and health-care
professionals. This plan will help the resident attain his or her full potential
physically, socially and emotionally.
Sumner's
Catered Living Program
Our program offers tiered levels of service that accommodate the needs of
residents requiring minimum care to those in need of maximum attention.
The floor plans for each of our four Catered Living buildings feature a
foyer, parlor, living room and dining room with access to a garden courtyard.
And, just like homes, the kitchen will be the heart of the living areas. The
largest personal suites in the region will be accessed from private hallways, as
they are in most houses. Each suite includes a separate seating area,
kitchenette and personal bathroom.
At Sumner on Ridgewood, we focus on health and wellness —not dependence. Our goal is to create an environment where residents are
empowered to maintain as much control and independence in their lives as
possible. We emphasize strengths, not limitations, and furnish care that is
tailored to each resident's unique desires and needs.
