Current Gifts
Annual Fund
The Sumner Fund is an annual solicitation for general operating costs. Gifts
may be unrestricted or restricted for nursing care, culinary, activities,
facility maintenance or grounds maintenance. Gifts range up to $1,000.
Memorial
Fund
Memorial gifts are annual donations in memory or honor of a special
individual and average between $25 and $100. Sumner receives many memorial gifts
in memory of residents who have passed away.
Donor
Restricted Funds
These funds are established by individuals or families to support specific
programs at Sumner that enrich the lives of residents and staff. They give the
donor an opportunity to create a fund in which he or she has a special interest.
Donor Restricted Funds start at $5,000. They are put into a "mini endowment" and
each year the principle is applied to the restricted use for which the gift is
intended.
Endowments
Like Donor Restricted Funds, endowments are set up by individuals as special
gifts for a specific interest starting at $10,000.
Gifts of
PropertyGifts of property, also known as in-kind gifts, include tangible personal
property such as artwork, jewelry, acreage, homes and vehicles.
