Living. The tastefully appointed Manor House is the center of the community and
offers a warm and inviting atmosphere for residents to welcome old friends and
make new ones; where residents can exercise, socialize, or enjoy quiet
meditation and reflection; where residents can dine in intimate luxury or meet
friends in the more casual deli setting; where residents can purchase
convenience goods, attend lectures, enjoy a smorgasbord of programming and
special events; and where residents can entertain family, friends and guests.
Eden Villas
The Eden Villas represent the ultimate in Independent Living. These
two-bedroom, very private homes are maintenance-free and designed for easy
living. Every villa features one-level convenience, a full-size kitchen with the
latest conveniences, attached garage, private patio, large storage area and
round-the-clock, professional security. All villas are within a short walk of
the Manor House, where you'll find everything from a Meditation Room, Fitness Center and Indoor Pool,
to the Terrace Room Restaurant, Deli on
Ridgewood, Library, Computer Center and much more.
Garden
Apartments
A convenient connecting corridor leads from the Garden Apartments to the
Manor House. These comfortable one- and two-bedroom apartments have luxury
baths, an emergency response system and concierge services. The rooms are
spacious and bright, and there is plenty of room for storage. All major
appliances, including washers and dryers, are part of the Garden Apartment
package. Also included is weekly housekeeping service.
The
Importance of Wellness
 Sumner on Ridgewood believes in the benefits of exercise and activity for all
our residents, especially those in Independent Living. Our wellness philosophy
incorporates a variety of programs including water aerobics, water walking and
stretch aerobics. We emphasize walking, being outdoors and living as
independently as possible. We believe promoting healthy lifestyles can reduce
heart disease, improve short-term memory, reduce the risk of cancer and improve
overall mood state. Our Salon features the gamut of services for pampering.
Independent Living also includes rehabilitation services, physician examination
areas and routine diagnostic screenings. Other services
available include music therapy, podiatry, hearing evaluations, acupuncture,
exercise, and fitness lectures and presentations.
Technology
 Sumner on Ridgewood is equipped with a state-of-the-art wireless monitoring
system that monitors the buildings and grounds through a network of pagers,
emergency pull cords,
sensors and elective personal pendant transmitters. We
seize technological opportunities to support delivery of quality care, expanded
services and enhanced communication. Our investment in technology includes an
inter-community email network, website, resident computer center with internet
access and regular computer training.
