Sumner Awards
Sumner Receives Much Recognition
for Our Deficiency-Free Survey
Sumner on Ridgewood recently received a deficiency-free
survey and the word is spreading!
Ohio House Representative Brian G. Williams
(House District 41) commended us with a
certificate.
The Ohio Department of Health's Rebecca Maust, Chief of
the Division of Quality Assurance, sent us a
congratulatory letter. The Ohio Assisted Living
Association gave us a
recognition certificate. The Advocate Of
Not-For-Profit Services for Older Ohioans (AOPHA)
applauded us with both a
letter and a
certificate. We are justifiably beaming with pride.

AIA 2005 Design for
Aging Review
We were pleased to be notified that
Sumner on Ridgewood had been
selected to be featured in the American Institute of Architects (AIA) 2005
Design for Aging Review. The Design for Aging Review is held in partnership with
the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA) every two
years and is a juried selection recognizing senior living projects that are
notable for their innovative design feature and architectural quality. This is
quite an honor.
Sumner on Ridgewood
was presented in a slide presentation by the jurors at the AAHSA Annual
Meeting on November 7, 2005 in San Antonio. A presentation also occurred at the AIA
National Convention in Los Angeles, June 8, 2006. A publication of the selected
projects, Design for Aging Review, 8th Edition, is a high quality
full-color hard cover book that was issued in early 2006.

National
Recognition:
2005 Best of Seniors Housing
Design Gold Award
Sumner on Ridgewood has
received the Gold Award from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) 2005
Best of Seniors Housing Awards in the Large Continuing Care Retirement
Communities category for our design by Dorsky Hodgson + Partners. The architects
describe Ridgewood's design as
a unique blend of traditional stately design elements and forward thinking
senior living philosophy.
With a record number of entries this year, the jury spent two days
behind closed doors evaluating the entries. Sumner received
the Gold Award at the Best of Seniors Housing Awards Luncheon
during the NAHB International Builder's Show in January 2005. The NAHB Seniors Housing Council pioneered its awards program in 1992
to showcase the finest projects from active adult communities and senior
apartments to CCRCs and assisted living communities.
Sumner on Ridgewood's Best of Seniors Housing
Award allows us to gain recognition
and reinforces our position as among the best on the market today. A distinguished panel of
design experts, marketing and advertising professionals, builders/developers,
and other professionals involved in 55+ seniors housing judged the projects in
108 categories of seniors housing design and marketing. Entries were judged in November 2004,
and each judge rated the entries on a point system, with a composite
jury naming finalists in each category.
